Inter-City Casting began life as one of the first Manchester's actors' co-operatives in 1982. Since then it has evolved to offer personal management, run solely by
Caroline Joynt (herself once a member of the co-op). As an agency it strives to complement the family feel of the old co-op but with the business acumen of new management, thereby retaining its position as one of the top northern agencies.
Links have also been established with
Willpower Youth Theatre creating a base of over 300 children and teenagers available for auditions in the Greater Manchester vicinity. Inter-City Casting can also (on request) provide experienced extras. They were the sole northern provider of extras for .
